Data population wizard (DPW) is an automated functionality to preview and validate data changes, and update them to the ServiceNow production tables safely.
During the data content set planning (1), user can preview the configuration of the data content set (2).
The preview functionality reports any possible errors in the configuration of the current data content set, and helps to fix those before data population.
The user can hover over the lines in the preview report (1), and Data Content Planner will highlight the referred object in the data content set diagram in orange color (2).
After the user has successfully previewed the data content set's configuration (1) and fixed the possible errors (2), the data content set is ready for data population.
The population is done by using the commit button at the bottom of the data population wizard tab. The commit button is disabled (3) and not available until the status of the data content set is turned to "Ready for population" (4).
The commit button (5) updates all of the changes listed in the preview report to the target tables.
