DCM R3.0 is a major release focusing on improving Data Content Planner capabilities including improved UI and improved data loading and searching capabilities. Release date: 9.11.2018 |
This release also includes several smaller enhancements and fixes to Blueprint Designer and Audit functionality.
New Features
Area | Feature | Description |
---|---|---|
Data Content Planner | Loading related record | Data Content Planner is now able to load related records based on selected Content Set item. This will bring the data into the content set according to Blueprint. Loading and updating existing data is the main focus area of this whole release and this will complete the cycle from defining data models and auditing existing data to fixing the deviations in the Data Content Planner (in case data has not been populated with the planner in the first place). |
Data Content Planner | Grouping content set items (records) | User can define a limit after which records are grouped inside a container. User can also define how many records are shown per row, when grouped records are expanded. This also brings a new link type that will group multiple links together when links are shown between records. |
Data Content Planner | Start from Root record | Data Content Planner will now force users to set root record first and only after that allow adding other records into the content set. |
Data Content Planner | Field plans for existing records | User can now define "Field plans" for existing records too in Data Content Planner. This means that one can also change individual fields for existing records and populate all changes at once into "live" tables. |
Data Content Planner | Link editor | DCP has a new Link editor window for maintaining multiple links between two containers. This new view supports higher data volumes and is easier to read than multiple relationships shown on canvas. |
Data Content Planner | Missing link indicators | Content set item is now showing a red "missing link icon", if the particular record is still missing some mandatory links to other records according to Blueprint. |
Data Content Planner | Removing actual links | Now that DCP can load existing records and relationships into Content Set, the DCP can also remove links between records. Removed links are indicated with red color and those will be removed or cleared from the actual tables when committing data changes. This will not remove the actual records, but reference fields value or m2m record creating the link will be removed. |
Data Content Planner | Record search | We have replaced the loading of all matching records into Data Content Planner with a new search. Search can use different fields available in the default list view (as columns). This search makes the Data Content Planner much faster than before and should fix some issues related to very long loading times. |
Blueprint Designer | Support for Document ID type of fields | Document ID fields can now be used to define "References" like the Reference fields. |
Enhancements
Area | Enhancement | Description |
---|---|---|
Data Content Planner | Blueprint is now blue | Blueprint is actually blue now when shown on the drawing canvas of the Data Content Planner. |
Data Content Planner | More record types / colors | With "autoloaded" and "removed" content set items, Data Content Planner is now using more colors to identify different types of records. |
Data Content Planner | Field condition and root container icons | Field condition and root container icons are now shown in Data Content Planner also, while previously those were only used in Blueprint Designer. |
License | Amount of Content Sets are no longer limited. | All versions now include unlimited Content sets. Only the blueprint versions are restricted for Pro packages. |
Data Population Wizard | Root record and audit direction added to Preview logic | Now the Preview in Data Population Wizard follows the same logic as Audit when it comes to root records and audit directions. |
Blueprint Designer | Delete action to context menu | Containers context menu now includes "Delete" action to remove container from the drawing canvas. Previously this was only possible by first selecting the container and then hitting Delete button from the keyboard. |
Blueprint Designer | Audit direction indicators | Blueprint now includes audit direction indicators to show which way the audit is meant to run. Automatic direction is shown with "diamond" icon, while actual direction is a "triangle" pointing to that direction. |
Blueprint Designer | Forcing audit direction | When Blueprint is being published, all Automatic audit directions are set to actual direction. Default for automatic direction is always away from the root record. |
Blueprint Designer | Do not allow unreachable containers | Before publishing, Blueprint Designer will check if the Blueprint includes containers that can not be reached from root record when moving the links into the audit direction. Blueprint can not be published, if it includes "unreachable" containers. |
Audit | Open Blueprint from Audit instance | Audit instance view now has a link to open the Blueprint used to run the audit into Blueprint Designer. |
Audit | Show filter conditions with display values | Audit results now has a link to show filter conditions in a separate hover window that uses condition builder to show filter with display values instead of "query string". |
Bug fixes
Area | Issue | Description |
---|---|---|
License | License issue in domain separated environments | Previously DCM had issues to verify free and Professional package limitations in a domain separated environment. But now restrictions work OK and domain separated environments can also use other than Unlimited licenses. |
Blueprint Designer | Blueprint is showing wrong field label | Sometimes when an inherited class had a different label for a field than it's parent class, the parent's label was shown also for inherited tables. |
Data Content Planner | Keeps loading when opening the Data Content Planner | Due to large data volumes, Data Content Planner got stuck in loading and loading the data to the preloaded record list. This is no longer an issue with the new data search in DCP. |
