How to cancel a running Audit Instance

Problem

Sometimes audit instance is running too long and or can get stuck due to failure. Or a person running the audit just want to cancel it due to wrong data set or some other reason.

Solution

Audit run can be cancelled in two different ways:

  1. Delete the related Audit Instance record
  2. Change the Audit Instance status to Failed

Both of these options will stop the process after a little while.

Deleting the related Audit instance record

  • Go to "DCM - Data Content Manager" application
  • Open "Audit Instances" module under Administration
  • Find the Audit instance you want to cancel

  • Open the record and Delete it
  • OR select record from the list and delete it via the List view action at the bottom

  • After a while all audit instance related activities will stop

Change the audit instance status to Failed

In case you want to keep the audit instance and already processed records, you can also change the status to stop the audit process.

  • Go to Audit instances module and find the related audit instance record just like before
  • Change the record status to "Failed" and Update the record

  • After a while all audit instance related activities will stop

Change audit result state to Failed

In case you want to keep the audit instance and already processed records, you can also change the state of one of audit result to failed.

  • Go to Audit Results module and find the related audit result record.
  • Change the record status to "Failed" and Update the record

  • After while audit instance related activities will stop.
